What is Podcasting and how do I utilize this tool?
Podcasting is a new way of delivering audio and video content across the internet. Much like a subscription to a newspaper, podcasting allows you to “subscribe” to a newsfeed (also referred to as RSS) and receive updates automatically! BOSU Fitness is pleased to offer our videos in podcasts. This allows you to subscribe to our videos using iTunes (you will need at least iTunes version 4.9 installed), and receive new fitness tips as they become available—without ever even opening your web browser! Once downloaded, the video fitness tips videos can then be synced to your iPod, or listened to on your PC or Mac all within the latest version of iTunes.
Step One: Download iTunes onto your computer. The latest version of iTunes is available directly from Apple’s website. Just download and install; there’s both Mac and PC versions! Again, make sure you have version 4.9 (or above).
Step Two: Subscribe Next you must subscribe to our podcast. First, click on the link, “click here to subscribe to our podcast account” at the top of this page. Next, launch iTunes and select the “Subscribe to Podcast” option under the Advanced menu. Paste (or ctrl+v) the URL into the field that appears and click the Okay button.
Step Three: Download As soon as you’ve successfully subscribed, the latest video fitness tips will automatically begin downloading. Please allow some time for the download, since the file size can be large depending on video length. After it is complete, you may begin viewing the video. If you’d like to download previous videos, simply hit the “get” button next to their name.
Step Four: Sync (only if you own a video iPod) Before syncing with your video iPod, you must ensure you have the latest iPod software installed on the iPod. Visit Apple’s iPod software page to download it. This makes it so your iPod can transfer and understand the podcast and list it correctly. Follow all the instructions given to update and install the software on your iPod.
