DAVID’S DELICIOUS BROCCOLI DISH

Broccoli is probably my favorite vegetable and David has perfected a way to cook it!  I’m excited to share this recipe because I’m hoping that you love it as much as we do!  It’s all about using high-quality ingredients and getting the broccoli to soak up the flavor.  We like to use Organic Coconut Oil when we stir-fry because it holds up better with high heat.  We then use Extra-Virgin Olive Oil later for flavor.  We also like to use a high-quality soy sauce when we cook because the taste is more subtle, yet richer than other kinds of soy sauce.

4 broccoli crowns
5-6 cloves of garlic
organic coconut oil
extra-virgin olive oil
high-quality soy sauce

Step #1: Wash and cut the broccoli into bite-sized pieces.  Layer a large bowl with a paper towel (to absorb the water) and place the broccoli in it.

Step #2: Chop the garlic.

Step #3: Spoon a healthy amount of coconut oil into the wok or fry-pan and heat the wok over a high/medium high flame.

Step #4: Add broccoli to the wok.  Stir every 30 seconds or so until pieces of the broccoli are charred (not burnt), with nice little brown and black parts on each piece.

Step #5: Remove wok from heat.

Step #6: Add generous amounts of olive oil and soy sauce until all of the broccoli is moist.

Step #7: Put the wok back on the heat and let it steam with an open lid, stirring occasionally to desired firmness.  (Avoid over-cooking).

Step #8: Turn off the heat and fold the raw garlic into the broccoli, letting the heat of the dish cook the garlic.

Step #9: Transfer broccoli to a serving dish and clean the wok quickly.

Step #10: Enjoy!
